YOUTH PROGRAMS
Our youth initiatives - Delta Academy, Delta GEMS, and EMBODI - reflect Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s enduring commitment to public service and youth empowerment. These programs are designed to support the holistic development of young people through academic enrichment, leadership cultivation, character building, and community engagement. By providing mentorship and structured guidance at critical stages of growth, we prepare youth to excel academically, lead with integrity, and become responsible, civically engaged leaders.

Dr. Betty Shabazz
DELTA ACADEMY
The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy is a national program of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, designed to prepare 6th, 7th, and 8th grade young ladies for the challenges of the 21st century. The program emphasizes academic enrichment, leadership development, self-esteem building, and exposure to STEM careers.

The Long Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated supports this mission through monthly community-based workshops focused on leadership, healthy relationships, and personal development, helping young women build confidence and skills for future success.

DELTA G.E.M.S.
Delta G.E.M.S. (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) is a national program of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, designed to support African American young women in grades 9–12. Guided by five core components - Scholarship, Sisterhood, Show Me the Money, Service, and Infinitely Complete the program focuses on academic excellence, goal setting, leadership development, and preparation for college and career success.

Through mentorship, service learning, and monthly workshops Delta G.E.M.S. nurtures confident, socially conscious young women committed to achievement and community engagement.

E.M.B.O.D.I.
EMBODI - Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence - is a national program of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, implemented by the Long Beach Alumnae Chapter to support the empowerment and development of African American males. The program conducts workshops to address key educational, social, and emotional challenges through mentorship, dialogue, and action-focused programming.

EMBODI emphasizes leadership development, STEM exposure, character and ethics, physical and mental wellness, healthy relationships, college and career readiness, financial literacy, civic engagement, and service learning - equipping young men to reach their full potential and become engaged, responsible leaders.
